TAN Sitong (1865-1898), styled Rebirth, Soaring by literary name, born at Liuyang County of Changsha Shire, Hunan Province (present-day Liuyang, Hunan Province). He was a famous statesman, thinker and reformist in the modern history of China. The poet has been known as one of the “Six Gentlemen in the Reform Movement of 1898”.
